Founded in 1940, Allan Wilson Technical Boys High School is one of Zimbabwe's most storied educational institutions. Named after Major Allan Wilson, it was elevated to Technical High School status in 1952 — the first of its kind in the country. The school shares boundaries with Prince Edward School to the north and Harare Polytechnic to the south, and has produced engineers, athletes, business leaders, and public servants across six continents.

Allan Wilson's centrally located campus in Harare offers premium facilities for corporate, athletic, academic and community events. All booking revenue is managed through the General Purposes Fund (GPF) — directly reinvested in school infrastructure.

Boarding at Allan Wilson is designed to build self-reliance, brotherhood and academic focus. Under the direct supervision of house wardens and matrons, our residential program develops the full person — disciplined, healthy and socially capable.
We are actively expanding our boarding capacity toward 300+ residential students — with refurbished dormitories, improved sanitation, enhanced dining and structured daily programs.

We welcome applications for Form 1 through Lower Sixth entry. Admission is merit-based and competitive. We encourage early enquiry for all year levels.
Contact the admissions office by phone, WhatsApp or email to confirm place availability and collect an application form.
Return the completed form with certified copies: birth certificate, last school report, Grade 7 results (Form 1) or O-Level results (A-Level), and parent/guardian ID.
Attend an entrance assessment in core subjects. Boarding applicants also complete a medical clearance and warden interview.
Successful applicants receive a formal offer letter. Confirm your place by paying the registration fee and completing school clearance forms.

The Allan Wilson Old Boys Association (AWOBA) is a thriving global network spanning Zimbabwe, South Africa, the United Kingdom, North America, Australia and beyond. AWOBA provides scholarships, mentorship, sports investment and infrastructure support to the school.
